Dr. Au uses some of the latest equipment that modern dental technology has to offer. Below, you can read about some of the high-tech dentistry equipment he uses to make dental treatment more efficient and comfortable.
Laser Dentistry makes dental procedures more comfortable for the patient. The laser makes procedures go faster, reduces the amount of bleeding, causes less swelling, speeds up healing times, and does not cause any lasting discomfort after the procedure is completed.
Air abrasion uses tiny particles to gently blast away the tooth structure. Air abrasion shoots a fine stream aimed at the tooth decay. These small particles remove decay efficiently and with less discomfort than the conventional dental drill. Air Abrasion is ideal for thoroughly cleaning decay out from cavities.
Panoramic X-rays capture a detailed, panoramic view of your teeth. This gives Dr. Au a high-quality image of the entire mouth. Panoramic X-rays are often used to evaluate jaw joint problems, plan denture cases, or for orthodontic treatment.
Digital X-rays are high-speed X-rays that use 80% less radiation than film X-rays. Digital X-rays allow Dr. Au to examine fine details such as early forming cavities. Digital X-rays displayed on a monitor allow the patient to see the problematic areas as well, helping them understand any areas needing attention.
3D Cone Beam CT Scanner
The Cone Beam CT scanner captures detailed 3D images of the jaw, teeth, bone and entire skull needed to properly plan a dental implant placement. The system uses much less radiation than conventional X-rays, and the resulting images are extremely crisp.
Anatomage Implant-Planning Software
After taking comprehensive 3D X-rays of your mouth and jaw, we plan all the details of the dental implant placement using this special software.
Intraoral cameras are small handheld digital cameras that project an enlarged image of the inside of your mouth onto a computer screen. Dr. Au will use the intraoral camera as an exam, treatment planning and educational tool for his patients.
OnPharma® Anesthetic applicator
The Onpharma® Mixing Pen is a handheld precision compounding and mixing device. It makes the application of local anesthetic more comfortable for the patient by ensuring the optimal solution, blend and dosage of anesthetic for a painless injection.
Our hygienists use Piezo Ultrasonic scalers to remove hard stains from the surface of your teeth. Ultrasonic scalers use high-frequency sound waves to remove buildup without harming your teeth or causing any discomfort. Ultrasonic scalers also increase the speed of cleanings.
